Hello and welcome to my profile, here at Goostrey Parish Council. I am Julian Sulej, a positive, enthusiastic individual and resident of Goostrey since October 2009.I am a relative newcomer to the council and joined in response to local resident requests with the aim of helping to contribute to the environment, facilities, and life of the village.
I previously lived in Congleton for many years and went to school there and knew the Goostrey area well as a teenager. I came to Goostrey after living in Scotland and elsewhere for more than 36 years and have come to love this area.
An award-winning senior educator and management consultant with a successful track record in in higher education and business development.
As a tutor for local students in Holmes Chapel, Goostrey and elsewhere. I have seen first-hand some of the issues faced by young people in trying to establish a career path, especially in science and technology.
I lived and worked in the USA and France for a couple of years. Where I taught Executive MBA and other education programs as a Visiting Professor in innovation and enterprise.
Originally trained as a Biochemist/Toxicologist, I have a keen interest in environmental issues including local ecology, planning and development, and local education
My other interests include photography, hill walking, winter mountaineering, swimming and other cultures, education, and opportunities for young people.
I am keen to see the village maintain its unique character and amenities. So that you, as a village resident, are able to continue to enjoy the local countryside and everything that Goostrey offers. As well as helping us keeping pace with the modern world and its needs.
