Her Majesty The Queen

Her Majesty The Queen

1926 – 2022

It was with the greatest sadness that Goostrey Parish Council learnt of the death of Her Majesty the Queen.  Her Majesty ruled for longer than any other Monarch in British history and was much loved and respected throughout the world.

Her Majesty’s historic reign means that it is difficult for us to imagine our lives without her calm and steadfast presence.  For so many of us, The Queen represented continuity in an ever-changing world; Her Majesty has been with us at times of deepest crisis, offering words of hope and comfort and sharing in our joy at times of celebration.

The Queen had links to over 600 charities, military associations, professional bodies and public service organisations and considered public and voluntary service one of the most important aspects of her work.

The Queen’s commitment to devote her whole life to our service was unwavering and continued despite her own personal grief.  Her Majesty’s sense of duty and devotion to the service of others is an example to us all.  Goostrey Parish Councillors and staff join the country in mourning her loss and in sending our sincere condolences to the Royal family.

Further announcements will be made in due course.
