Bluedot Festival 2022 – Update

The organisers of the Bluedot Festival have provided an update on new developments and the return of the festival in 2022.

Residents’ Website

https://www.discoverthebluedot.com/

We now have a dedicated residents’ website and we have tried to incorporate as much information as possible to help residents to access their discounted tickets and answer any questions they may have. We have also added an option to subscribe to our mailing list so that they can be kept up to date.

It includes details on how to order tickets, which will be online directly via Ticketline (as e-tickets so there is no additional postage costs). Residents who qualify for the discount will receive 30% off the ticket price and will have a choice of options from single day tickets to a full weekend pass. We have tried to keep the process as simple as possible, so all residents need to do to get the one time discount code to use on the Ticketline website is to email me with evidence of their home address and a photo ID.

Community Engagement and Charity Donations

We are keen to involve the community as much as possible and will be sharing information as we get closer to the festival on volunteering and work experience opportunities. I am also interested in speaking to any local organisations who would like to get involved too.

As part of our community engagement we have a fund each year that we are able to use to support local charities, and are pleased to have donated a total of £17,300 so far (including the parishes of Goostrey & Lower Withington). This year we would like to open this out to allow any local charities the opportunity to nominate themselves to be considered for this fund. We would like to open it up to any registered charity within a 5 mile radius of Jodrell Bank and then allow our residents to vote on the two that they would like to receive the donations. This would allow some charities who have not been considered before to have an opportunity to be involved and also would engage our residents in the process. We would like to start the process of charity nominations from 10th March-31st March and the community vote would launch early April. I will keep you updated as this progresses.
