Goosfest

Category: Clubs

Goosfest is a not-for-profit arts and music festival held each year in October at various venues in and around the village of Goostrey in Cheshire. Run by volunteers, its aim is to offer a high-quality range of entertainment to the local community.

In recent years, the 10-day festival of music and arts has been preceded by Goosfest Art Weekend at the end of September, with art displays by some of the North West’s leading artists, and a selection of workshops for people to try their hand at arts and crafts.

The main October festival offers a wonderful schedule of events, and usually includes classical, folk, jazz or contemporary music, theatre, stand-up comedy, and other entertainment.

Goosfest is also delighted to partner with several local organisations during the festival period, including Goostrey Guild with a festival lecture, Goostrey Archives with a community display of memorabilia, Goostrey Church with an organ recital and Goostrey Flower Club with a display of flowers. The festival organisers also partner with as many local venues as possible, to offer a selection of sites as near as possible to Goostrey. These include Goostrey Village Hall, Goostrey Home & Leisure, local pubs, Lowes Farm, Bidlea Dairy and Clonter Opera Theatre.

The festival team is always on the look-out for more volunteers so if you’re interested in joining them organising committee, or simply putting your name down to help on the bar, set-up and take-down events, or provide refreshments and/or accommodation for performers, please get in touch via the contact details below.
